Sooyoos

React / Symfony full-stack developer

What I did at Sooyoos

I joined Sooyoos as part of a 2-year work-study program to complete my Master's degree.

It was in this web agency that I worked on a lot of projects, thanks to their large number of end clients such as:

  • I worked with “Roche” on a confidential project.
  • I worked with “Meilleur Habitation”, on the creation of a bespoke CRM.
  • I worked with “Blik” on the development of a mobile application and a tracking dashboard.
  • I worked with “FamilyTrip” on the complete overhaul of their accommodation booking platform.

As a developer:

  • React.js to work on the booking funnel on the Wecasa website.
  • React Native to work on the mobile application for Wecasa customers.
  • Rails / Ruby on Rails to work on the website such as the roulette game for Valentine's Day in 2021 or in particular the rebranding of May 2021 as well as on some back-end parts of Wecasa such as automatic professional photo clipping.

Description of Sooyoos

The company is currently located at 11 rue Oberkampf, 75011 Paris. It is made up of a team of 11 people, web developers, project managers and founding members. It is a digital agency offering design and creation services on several scales, for start-ups as well as large companies.

It also has a wide range of products, from websites and mobile devices to competitions.

So how did Sooyoos come into being? Its name bears an uncanny resemblance to “Soyuz”, a Soviet and then Russian launcher whose design dates back to the 1950s and which was initially used to launch the crewed spaceships of the Soyuz program.

Sooyoos was born from the merger of Commonbox and Sooyoos towards the end of 2012.

First of all, you should know that Commonbox created its business on 2 poles: the fact of being able to create an online communal pot and the creation of websites.

Commonbox was created by Maximilien Wecxsteen and Guillaume Sondag. At the time, they were 2 recent HETIC graduates. Commonbox was bought by lepotcommun.fr in 2014.

2 Polytechnique alumni have joined the adventure of our 2 dear friends, Serge Soudoplatoff and Marc Fourier. Their combined experience is such that it has led to the launch of a number of start-ups.

Sooyoos offers customers advice on digital transition, technology and infrastructure consultancy, bespoke web application development, dynamic website development, mobile development, etc.

Sooyoos tends to prefer open-source technologies such as the PHP framework, Symfony, the React JS JavaScript library, the PHP CMS, WordPress etc.

Sooyoos supports all types of customer, from start-ups to major brands.

The strength of Sooyoos lies in its technological expertise, which not only gives us confidence when inviting tenders, but also helps us to structure each of these projects more effectively. The company only works on a bespoke basis, and every site it creates, whether it's a Wordpress or Symfony site, will be tailor-made to meet the customer's needs.

As a result, Sooyoos' main competitors are web agencies offering bespoke website design and technological expertise.
