Overview
The Escapists 2 is a prison escape simulation game developed by Mouldy Toof Studios and published by Team17, released in 2017. You play an inmate whose only goal is to break out, in a top-down pixel art view.
Gameplay
Each prison has its own schedule: roll call, meals, work, free time, lights out. You have to stick to the guards' routine so as not to raise suspicion, while quietly preparing your plan. You pick up items from cells or from other inmates, hide them, then combine them to craft your escape tools.
This crafting and the multiple possible solutions for each prison give it real replay value: the same prison can be left in several different ways.
Multiplayer
The game can also be played with others, in co-op. Co-op makes the whole thing far more fun, but also more chaotic.

A prison escape game that relies on routine, crafting and multiple solutions, and that becomes far more fun, and more chaotic, in co-op.
