A remake of Final Fantasy VII that does not settle for redoing the original: it stretches Midgar across an entire game and fully commits to its own narrative choices. The hybrid real-time / ATB combat is a real success, snappy without sacrificing the tactical side. There is a lot of filler, but visually and musically it is gorgeous.
