Overview
Fall Guys is a free-to-play party battle royale developed by Mediatonic and published by Epic Games, released in 2020. I played it on Nintendo Switch.
I only played it for a few hours.
Story and world
There's no story as such. The game draws on wacky obstacle-course game shows: players control little bean-shaped characters competing against each other on obstacle courses.
Gameplay
You go through a series of different rounds: races, survival rounds or team games. Each round, some of the players are eliminated. To come out on top, you have to be the last one standing in the final round.
It's fun, but nothing more.
Since 2022, the game has been free-to-play and offers cross-play across all platforms.
Graphics and music
The art direction is very colourful, with levels that look like game show sets. Characters can be customised with lots of costumes.
Verdict
A fun party game, but nothing more. I only played it for a few hours.
